YTHC Will Writing Campaign
York Teaching Hospital Charity Will Writing Campaign
Monday 17 Friday 28 October 2016 (weekday appointments only)
Why make a Will?
Only three out of ten of us will make a Will. This means we are not planning for
the future of our loved ones, but for most of us, this is what life is about. By putting our affairs in order, regardless of how big or small they are, you can make things much easier for your loved ones later.
We are pleased to be taking part in the York Teaching Hospital Charity (YTHC) Will Writing Campaign in 2016. The YTHC is working closely with local solicitors to give you the opportunity to have your will written for free when you choose to remember the YTHC in your Will or make a donation on the day at the solicitors. YTHC are asking for a £110 donation for a single Will and £190 for a mirrored Will.
The amount you choose to leave in your Will is entirely up to you. You could leave a set amount, 1% or 100% of your estate or simply what is left once your family and friends have been taken care of.
If you would like to make a Will in this way, appointments can be made in advance but must take place within the two weeks of 17-28 October 2016.
You will need to get a form from YHTC or ourselves to complete and on the form it will state that signing and completion of the Will must take place within 6 weeks of the initial appointment or a fee maybe incurred from the solicitors. It will also state that the free Will is only for a basic Will and a more complicated Will will incur charges.
What legacy will you leave?
Legacies to the YTHC can have a lasting benefit to anyone who uses the services offered by one of their hospitals or community nursing teams.
Past legacies have funded research projects that have helped to develop new medical treatments, provided funding for staff to be trained on the latest procedures, purchased the newest technology in medical equipment and helped to refurbish an area within a hospital which has provided patients with a positive experience. All of these enhancements could not have happened without the generosity of those who have left a lasting legacy to the YTHC.
