Supporting our community in 2022

We are looking forward to being able to be more proactive in supporting our local community in 2022, now that we see restrictions on our lives due to COVID being eased by the government.

Our Community Focus value is our commitment to showing that we are passionate and active in giving back to the communities where we live and work.

Our staff are currently nominating charities they would like us to consider fundraising for in 2022. We will put these to a vote and have one charity that we focus our fundraising efforts on for this year.

We will be launching our environmental sustainability project in 2022, looking at ways in which we as a firm, and our staff in their daily lives, can reduce our impact on the environment.

As part of this project, we will be choosing one environmental charity project that we can support by giving our time to them in 2022 to help on activities where they need volunteers.

We are attending many events across the Yorkshire region, as sponsors and as speakers, but most of all to show our support for the work they are doing and help they are providing the community.

Armed Forces Day National Event 24-26 2022 – hosted in Scarborough

Saturday 25th June 2022

The Armed Forces Day National Event celebration in 2022 is expected to attract a diverse audience of around 200,000 and the organisers want it to be the best Armed Forces Day that Scarborough and the country has ever hosted. It is a fitting tribute to the Armed Forces and we are proud to be one of the sponsors of the event.

It will have an action packed event programme, including spectacular air and ground displays and an extensive military parade. Previous national events have attracted people from across the country and beyond, including VIP guests such as members of the Royal family.

We are signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant which demonstrates our support for the Armed Forces Community. By sending in our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant we are fully registered and recognised as a business that promises to demonstrate our commitment to the Armed Forces Community and their families, not just on Armed Forces Day but all year round. As part of our commitment, we offer a discount on our legal services to Armed Forces personnel. We work with the City of York Council to support our Armed Forces community and are part of the Armed Forces Covenant Working Group for Business and Employment in the York area.

Platinum Jubilee Charity Mid Summer Spectacular 25 June 2022 – held in Driffield

A charity concert to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. We are proud to be one of the event sponsors. The concert will feature, the world famous, ‘Grimethorpe Colliery Band’ and will include a ‘Last night of the Proms’ style finale and spectacular firework display and there will be many other treats in store too including the world famous, Kate Chruscicka, Classical & Electric Violinist who transforms the violin from a traditional instrument into a masterpiece of both classical and modern music for all.

All the funds raised will help support the work of the events chosen charities - Macmillan Cancer Support Yorkshire Appeal, WISHH, The Tribune Trust, Driffield Agricultural Society

Great Yorkshire Show 12-15 July 2022 – Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate

The 163rd Great Yorkshire Show will again be a four day event after the organisers had to put Covid-19 regulations in place for the show to go ahead in 2021, and some of these were so successful, they are here to stay!

Celebrating the great, this major agricultural show stages annual livestock, machinery, rural pursuits, food festival plus much more.

We are once again the sponsors of the Members Area, so do come along and say ‘hello’, we will be running a prize draw and giving out freebies.

We will also be supporting our colleagues at the NFU at the show. We have been a NFU Legal Panel firm since 2008, providing support and legal advice to NFU members, farmers and landowners in Yorkshire and the North East region.

We are also members of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, the organisers of the Great Yorkshire Show.

Driffield Show 20-21 July 2022 – Driffield Showground

2022 we will once see the show taking a two-day format. Numbers will again be capped, 15,000 visitors per day, offering a less crowded and congested day.

The Show, which is firmly established as the highlight of the local calendar and as an essential ‘must do’ event for visitors from both the local community and beyond will be celebrating its 146th year and will once again be combining its winning formula of celebrating the areas agricultural heritage whilst also embracing new developments.
