Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors has recently announced eight new promotions. Managing a business through a pandemic is definitely challenging, so it is great news to see local law firm Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, not only adapting to deliver their legal services in different ways to meet the needs of their clients but also being bold and having the confidence to continue pressing ahead with their growth plans and embracing this new world we all find ourselves in.
By staying focused on being the best law firm they can be for their clients and their staff, whilst delivering on two of their key values of being client centred and continuous improvement, they had no hesitation in recently awarding eight promotions across their four offices in North Yorkshire following the introduction of an all-inclusive, merit-based and fair for all career progression programme at the end of last year.
“We were very fortunate to be in a good position when the nation was put into lockdown back in March and were able to continue to deliver our excellent client service with no downtime when adapting to working remotely. We were confident with the systems and procedures we had in place and so, as the business continued to operate, the Directors were confident to continue with progressing their strategic plans.” Said Duncan Morter, Managing Director.
“If the last six months have taught us one key thing, it is to stay focused on what you want to deliver whilst keeping your clients at the centre of everything you do. We didn’t want to side-line the new career progression programme as it did not make business sense to and in fact it is a win-win-win for us as a firm, the staff promoted and ultimately our clients who benefit.
These new promotions have been earnt on merit and challenge the myth that only lawyers can run a law firm. The promotions see a new director at our Selby, Malton and Pickering offices as well as 2 senior associates and 3 associates which include non-lawyer roles from our marketing, secretarial and support teams. We want to reward staff who are hardworking, dedicated and passionate about our firm and demonstrate our service pledge and values through their actions. Our career progression programme has strengthened our staff support culture and rewards the strength and depth of expertise we have across our award-winning team.
Clients are at the heart of what we do but this can only be achieved by us investing in our staff so they are the best they can be, feel valued, and contribute to the improvement and growth of our firm.”
The firm made the decision to offer its staff an exciting career structure, a clear path from Associate, to Senior Associate to Director that is fair and attainable by those who to want to develop their careers, help the firm grow and contribute to the improvement of the business. It has a transparent structure and gives staff a real opportunity to not only develop their career but also be involved and have a say in the running of the firm for its future growth. The business holds the Investors in People Silver accreditation and have recently been ranked again as a leading firm in The Legal 500 UK 2021 Solicitors guide. The firm has also just confirmed the launch of the career progression programme for 2020/21, following the success after the initial launch.
